I have made my first order for Cashmere. I have chosen 3 different weights and 2 colours of each. This may seem a bit mean but at minimum order of 1kg per colour it still feels like quite a big outlay. I can expand the colour range when I have a clearer idea which weight is more popular.
I am being sent knitting samples this week so that I can work out exactly tension, needle sizes etc but I think they are Chunky, Aran and DK. The Chunky is going to be called Perla and is 80% Cashmere 20% Merino and it is super soft and to be honest feels like pure cashmere but is slightly cheaper. The colours I have chosen are :
are the 2 pure cashmere yarns – (an aran and a DK – tbc) which are going to be called Tesoro which is Italian for “treasure” so I thought it was an appropriate name. The heavier yarn comes in the following colours:
They are going to come in 50g balls. The Perla will cost around £18, and the Teroso will be £20. I believe this is fairly competitive – I have looked around and most places that sell cashmere are selling chinese cashmere which is the same price, and not nearly the same quality. In addition, no-one that I have found is selling chunky or aran weight cashmere. So with this yarn you really are buying something to treasure!
