During the last lockdown I taught several friends and neighbours how to knit. It was such a great group and open to everyone of all ages and stages. Given that we are now back in lockdown, and I have moved to a different part of the country (I now live in Alderbury, just south of Salisbury) I have decided to do it again.
Knitting is good for your soul. It is mindful, creative and cathartic and we all need a bit of self care at the moment!
There will be a weekly zoom “Knit & Natter” open to anyone who wants to join, whether you are a beginner or experienced. The aim will be to help people learn to knit and for those who already know, to learn new skills and techniques, as well as a form of social contact for some people who may be feeling isolated at the moment.
If you have never knitted before or have no needles/yarn I have starter packs which I am producing at cost, and I have created a few videos on YouTube which you can access below. My suggestion would be to watch them at your own pace and try to cast on, knit etc. Then I will answer any questions you may have in the zoom
To join or If you have any questions please contact me on the link below or send me an email. I will create a WhatsApp group and post the Zoom details in there (there have been too many incidents of Zoom meetings being hacked when details are posted publicly)
Video links on YouTube (recorded last Summer from my old “wool shed” in West London!)
P.s. I should add that this is a group for adults. I do teach children how to knit but in my experience it needs to be face to face. I will be starting knitting classes from my studio in Alderbury for all ages once I am allowed…
