Sep 16 – It has been a while since I made a jumper or item of clothing for my son, so I have decided to use some of the delicious Mulberino yarn and make a stripey jumper. He is going to be 2 in January and although this feels rather extravagent for a todder (silk/merino blend) the colours are so yummy and will work so well together and are soft soft soft so I can’t resist.
As usual, I am going to make it up as I go along, and will hopefully at some point get around to writing it down.
Sep 23 – I’ve been away this week and as we only took hand-luggage I didn’t want to risk taking my knitting incase they took my needles off me… However, I managed to get quite a lot done before I went away so I thought I would post a photo of it so far:
The 2 colour mixes are working really well together as they both contain some of the same colours (pure coincidence). I am alternating the colours every 6 rows which I think is working really well. You never know what a yarn like this is going to look like when knitting up and it can vary so much from stripe to stripe. Given that the stitch count is random I think it’s wierd that the blue/green yarn is pretty consistently green in the middle with the blues and purples at the edges…
