New year, new website, same great products.
I have been deliberating over what to do with my website since the birth of my second son just over 2 years ago. When I originally started Luxury Yarns, I built the site on a platform that was the best choice at the time. However, I have learned a lot since – about yarn, my customers and technology, and what was right then, just isn’t right any more… The site was getting clunky, hard to maintain and because I couldn’t update software without the support of developers, the running costs were adding up.
So, I have bitten the bullet and rebuilt the entire website. Hopefully you will like what you see and will find it easier (and quicker) to navigate. There will be teething problems I know, so please bear with me. If you encounter any issues or have any concerns just let me know – I will always be happy to help. Just get in touch
There are a couple of changes to note –
I have not been able to copy any account information from the old site. Therefore, you will need to create a new account and your previous order history will not be visible. I do have a detailed record of all previous transactions so if you need to know what you purchased and when, please let me know and I’ll look it up.
Loyalty Points – these have not been transferred from the old site. Hopefully you received my email back in December warning of this, and I apologise if you wanted to use your credit but did not get around to it.
You can still earn discounts – a review gets 15% off your next order, £5 off for sharing a photograph of your order and/or your finished item, and £5 for recommending us to a friend (minimum order £25).
This is the one area that I am not totally happy with, but I could either lose it completely or transfer it, warts and all. Some of it has translated fine, and some has strange code and characters. I will gradually go through and edit the posts but that wasn’t enough of a reason to stop the go live on this new site…
Lastly, regarding my newsletter, those of you who have been with me a while know that I do not write many newsletters – I just don’t have the time with everything else that I have to do. But, I have managed to export my subscribers list so you should not need to re-subscribe. However, if you want to be sure that’s fine – I don’t think it will send it to you twice… there you have it. I hope you like it!
