I have been working on a new site for what feels like forever, but is in fact only a couple of months.
“What’s wrong with the existing one?” I hear you say/think? Well, nothing much – I hope, however it does not translate well on mobiles and tablets. Not sure how au-fait you are with website terminology, but the buzz word is ‘responsive’ which means that it changes depending on the size of the window it is being viewed in. My existing site, whilst visible on mobiles, looks exactly the same, and to actually navigate it you have to zoom right in, which can be annoying as you keep having to swipe around the screen. The new site, when it goes like, will be optimised for whatever you are viewing it on.
I have several of my lovely loyal customers testing it at the moment, and hopefully they will discover any minor problems. There are a couple of things I can’t test until it actually goes live – for example the payment system… risky I know but I’ll just have to make sure that the swap over is done at a time when hardly anyone is on the site… Also, the facebook login and share products will only work on the live domain so we’ll have to wait until live to test that too. Otherwise though, I think we’re there… Here are a couple of screen grab for a sneeky peek…
