Altopiano Hand-Dyed pure cashmere yarn is one of our new range of luxury yarns. It has all the same characteristics of our hugely popular Altopiano, but (as the name suggests 😉 ) it has been hand dyed.
I appreciate that hand-dyed pure cashmere yarn is not an every day product – it is expensive. However, compared with the others on the market, ours is exceptional value, whilst still being amazing quality. Our customers are testament to that as they come back again and again. The yarns are dyed in small batches, but if you require larger quantities please let me know.
Because of the nature of hand-dyed yarn – no two skeins are ever the same, and even skeins in the same batch can look markedly different. If colour consistency is important then we suggest working with 2 skeins at once and working 2 rows of each. I endeavour to keep the photographs up to date but your order may look different to the image as everyone’s screens are slightly different.
Due to the process of hand-dyeing yarn, some residual dye may remain. This is perfectly normal and mostly effects blues and red dyes due to their manufacturing process. We do however suggest washing all garments before they are worn to prevent colour transference. In the case of particularly bright colours, soaking the finished item in a salt and vinegar solution will help fix colours prior to washing. For more information you can see our blog post.
