Description
A 50:50 Superwash merino silk sock yarn with the glimmer and drape of silk, and the softness of merino yarn. It literally shines. I love this blend so much that I also have it in Lace and DK. Perfect for shawls, jumpers and socks. These are all dyed in small batches so don’t hang around – if you see something you like my advice is buy it! The next batch may be slightly different. If you want a larger quantity please let me know./
Thinking up names for all of my colourways never seemed to do them justice. As I love music almost as much as colour it seemed that a good and never-ending source of inspiration would be to name them after some of my favourite tracks…
I dye all of these colours fairly regularly, but if the colour you want is showing as out of stock, or you want a larger quantity you can order it here and I will dye it for you at no extra cost. There is a minimum of 2 skeins per colourway. Alternatively you can join the waitlist to receive an email when it’s back in stock.
A few things to bear in mind when using hand dyed yarn:
- No two skeins are ever the same, even if they have been dyed in the same pot. If consistency is important and/or to prevent colour pooling I strongly recommend you knit with two skeins and alternate every other row, particularly on larger projects. If you only have one skein, then you can use both ends at once.
- Whilst every effort has been taken to ensure colour-fastness, there is a chance that some residual dye may remain (this is normal – think jeans…) I suggest hand washing all garments in cool water prior to being worn and keep bright colours separate. I also advise against soaking your finished item as the colours can bleed.
- It is not possible to work directly from a skein/hank. It must be wound into a ball before use, or will get into a terrible tangle. For more information on how to do this there are hundreds of videos on YouTube. Alternatively for a small fee I can do it for you here.
