Scardigan Pattern

Scardigan kit  is a cross between a scarf and a cardigan, made with mohair silk and merino yarns, a hugely versatile accessory that can be worn all year round.

I created this simple scarf-cardigan last year after seeing something similar on Facebook that was only available in acrylic/polyester. I loved the simplicity and versatility of it so decided to knit one myself. The pattern is very simple, with the sleeves created in the round and then the rest is knitted flat. It uses 300g of Mulberino 4ply and 3 x 50g skeins of Cloud Lace so it is “oh so soft” and deliciously warm. If you wanted to make a more cost effective version you could substitute with a DK yarn, I would suggest Mulberino DK so that you get the silk content and the drape, but equally Ultra Merino DK would work. You will need around 1200m.

It’s been tech edited, but not test knitted, although it’s so simple it shouldn’t need it.

It is written as “one-size” but can easily be adjusted and in fact you can try it on as you go. Approx finished size 240cm x 55cm.
