I created this oversize cardigan because I fluctuate between too hot and too cold and I wanted something that was easy to throw over me when I’m cold but easy to take off when I am too hot… Hence the Wrapdigan was born. I didn’t ever expect to write it down as a pattern, but a friend begged me to, and then promptly made it, and since then I have had so many people ask me either to make them one or to write the pattern, so here it is. Originally designed as Cashmere Wrapdigan, I wanted to create an alternative, that’s lighter and more of a Summer evening item, so I used Mulberino DK and Cloud lace, but you could also substitute with an Aran or Chunky (although it wouldn’t be as lightweight), and obviously making a tension square is imperative. The pattern uses roughly 600m of yarn (600 of each if you are holding double).
It’s been tech edited, but not test knitted, although it’s so simple it shouldn’t need it. It is “one-size” but can easily be adjusted. The finished size is approximately 110cm wide by 95cm tall.
