I have been working on this pattern for what feels like for ever. It is my first proper printed pattern and I have learned so much since starting it. I never knew about tech editing before, and have entered into the world of test knitting on Ravelry too. All in all I am loving this new part of my work – creating, commissioning and editing patterns to support my lovely cashmere yarns.
So, I originally made this jumper in Altopiano pure cashmere in a size 2 (the jumper comes in 12-18months, 2, 4 and 6 years). My son is now 13 months but is quite big for his age so I figured it would be better to have it too big than too small…
The pattern is currently being test knit on Ravelry, and will be available as a kit or stand alone pattern soon…
However, as part of the test knit I decided to knit a size one in the lovely Maxima yarn. My calculations are pretty spot on because I finished it yesterday and here he is modelling it – with a bit of help from his brother (not quite walking yet… but almost there!).
Edit: January 2018 – A year on this pattern still fits my little boy. He’s grown up a bit but really loves this jumper!
